Antarctica in Athy

After 2 great weekends in Athy celebrating Cruinniú na nÓg,our National Day of Youth.

Young people of Athy built upon Shackleton’s legacy of exploration by
sharing their visions for the future through themes of Antarctica, climate
change & climate activism. Their voices were represented through a
series of interactive workshops and activities throughout the afternoon
facilitated by Angelina Foster & Oisín Kenny.
Design & Screen-print by hand your own climate activist t-shirt was a 2-part
workshop.

Athy Arts Centre hosted: Part A on Friday 3rd  June – Working in groups designing a single t-shirt design
Shackleton Museum Athy hosted – Part B on Saturday 11th June –Printing their design on an organic fairtrade t-shirt

2pm – 4pm – The public were invited to walk like a penguin, and to view the exhibitions by the young people
